Abby Fisher is know for writing the "What Mrs. Fisher Knows About Old Southern Cooking" Cookbook, which was published in 1881. She was born in 1832 and passed away in 1890. Abby married Alexander C. Fisher, who was a pastor of the Methodist Church and they had 11 children.
They soon after opened a family business called Mrs. Abby Fisher & Company. She won many awards including two first place medals at the San Francisco Mechanics Institute Fair for the best assortment of jellies and preserves, and best pickles and sauces in 1880.
