Anderson and Richards Families

Virginia | 1619-1718

In 1712 their owner died and in they were given freedom and 640 acres. Because the government was afraid of what would happen if more slaves were freed they passed a law making it illegal to free slaves. The government also moved them to North Carolina where they became farmers.
