Atholene Mary Peyton

Louisville, Kentucky | 1906

Peyton, born in Louisville, Kentucky, worked as a domestic science teacher for the Girl’s Cooking Club. She was the author of the earliest Kentucky cookbook by an African American, Peytonia Cook Book. Published in 1906, it explored Peyton’s extensive repertoire of food and service.
