Colored Mixologists Club

Washington, D.C. | 1898

In 1898, R.R. Bowie and J. Burke Edelin founded the Colored Mixologists Club, a professional and social group of respected Black bartenders in Washington, D.C.. Its members included Black proprietors of restaurants and hotels, as well as those who were not permitted in white bars.
