George Washington Carver

Tuskegee, Alabama | 1819-1918

George Washington Carver's reputation was large based on his promotion of alternative crops to cotton. He was also a leader in promoting environmentalism. Carver's encourgement of crops rotation improved soil conditions. Carver was born into slavery in Missouri near Diamond Grove
Some accomplishments George Washington Carver made is pioneering crop rotation, inventing 300 uses for peanuts, and service for all. Carver established an agriculture extension in Alabama and founded an industrial research lab.
