Henry Minton

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | 1843

Minton was a successful caterer, restaurateur, and abolitionist for more than 25 years in Philadelphia. He served foods such as oysters, terrapin, and game to elite, white diners so that, by 1879, he was the third wealthiest African American man in the city.
