Lexius Henson

Augusta, Georgia | 1868

Henson was an accomplished restaurateur and caterer in Augusta, Georgia. He opened the Exchange Saloon and Restaurant in 1868, which served Augusta’s white elite with a raw oyster bar and ladies’ dining room. From 1875 to 1886, Henson hosted the city’s major public banquets.
