Vaucresson Sausage Company

New Orleans, Louisiana | 1899

Robert Levinsky Vaucresson began as a butcher in 1899. His son, Sonny, specialized in making sausage and, from 1966 to 1974, operated Vaucresson’s Café Creole on Bourbon Street, the first Black-owned business on the row since Reconstruction. The family-owned sausage company still operates.
