Zephyr Wright

Washington D.C. | 1942

Wright was the personal cook for President Johnson’s family from 1942 to 1969. Her influence extended beyond the White House kitchen to the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Wright’s experiences during segregation helped the President gain perspective on the country’s racial inequities.
