Bill Thorn

Hoquiam, Washington | 1919-Present

Bill Thorn owns a 15-acre organic farm in Hoquiam, WA where he grows produce and flowers. He runs a 250 family CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Home Delivery Program, and works with a local food bank and hospital to provide access to fresh food. He often collaborates with other Black chefs and sells produce to high-end restaurants. Thorn's farm also offers educational programs for schools from field trips to setting up gardens.
In 2020, Thorn became the first Black farmer awarded Farmer of the Year by Washington State Tilth Alliance.
