Eugene Baptiste

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | 1818

Haitian-born Baptiste and wife Mathilda Grey founded a catering business on South 15th Street in Philadelphia. Part of Philadelphia’s Guild of Caterers, they joined forces with the Augustins. The families co-owned a railroad dining car and maintained an international reputation.
