Frederick McKinley Jones

Jones was a self-taught, prolific inventor. He patented a portable, roof-mounted refrigeration unit for trucks that was later adapted for ships and railway cars. Founder of Thermo King, he transformed the global food system and made fresh food available to millions any time of year.
