George Crum

1819-1918

George Crum was born on July 15, 1824. He invented Potato Chips on mistake: he was frustrated at a customer and was upset with him and decided to take revenge and in response sliced potatoes paper-thin, frying them to a crisp, and seasoning them with lots of salt. The customer loved them. George Crum then opened up his own store called "Crumbs House", and also ended up changing his name to George Speck.
