James Hemings was the first American chef to train in France. Hemings introduced french fries, Mac'n cheese, Creme Brulee, and ice cream to American cuisine. James Hemings also cooked/served food to Jefferson and Hamilton during a historical meeting. Hemings set sail for Paris at age 19 and started his cooking career. Hemings served politicians and celebrities.
