James Hemings

Virginia | 1719-1818

James Hemings was enslaved by Thomas Jefferson, and started cooking for celebrities and politicians, plus he brought new food to America. He also cooked for the "meeting for Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton".
Hemings did eventually get freed from Jefferson and not long after, committed suicide because he drank too much.
