Virginia | 1919-Present

John W. Boyd is a farmer from Virginia. He is an activist and has helped end discrimination against Black farmers. In fact, he was one of the most effective defenders of civil rights. He founded the National Black Farmers Association, and spent months advocating for Black farmers. He even was on a short list of people to serve as Secretary of Agriculture in Barack Obama´s cabinet. John W. Boyd is an amazing person.
