Sally Seymour

Charleston’s first celebrated caterer, Seymour was enslaved to planter Thomas Martin, with whom she had several children. Seymour taught her daughter, Eliza Seymour Lee, who trained African American cooks, initiating a legacy that spanned over 150 years.
