Thomas J. Dorsey

Dorsey was one of the most renowned Philadelphia caterers in the 1800s. Although born enslaved, his services were sought after by Philadelphia’s elite. When Dorsey died in 1875, the Philadelphia Presscalled his presence “more essential than the honored guests” at events.
