The Wilbert Jones Company, Inc., is a food/beverage product development and marketing company. Wilbert is the author of 3 cookbooks: The New Soul Food Cookbook: Cut the Fat but Keep the Flavor (1996, Carol Publishing Group - winner of the National Council of Negro Women's Purple Reflection Award), Mama's Tea Cakes (1998, Carol Publishing Group), Smothered Southern Foods (2005, Kensington Books). In 2002, Jones was inducted into the Les Amis d'Escoffier Society of Chicago. In 2008, he was the host of the PBS national television series, Healthy Heritage Kitchen. In 2014, he authored, Images of America: Chicago Blues, which profiled Mississippi Delta Blues Musicians migration to Chicago, Illinois. Wilbert was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi - aka, the blues capital of the world, where he lived until the age of 14. In 2014, the City of Clarksdale honored Wilbert with the key to its city and named him Culinary Ambassador of the Mississippi Delta. In 2017, the City of Chicago honored Wilbert with a Resolution for his Chicago Blues book and culinary contribution on healthy eating and educating communities throughout its city. In 2011, Jones was honored with his first key from the city of Sikeston, Missouri, for his contribution of educating its citizens on healthy eating. He is a current contributor writer for Cuisine Noir Magazine and was a contributor editor for Prepared Foods Magazine 15 years.
