John W. Boyd Jr.

Boyd, a fourth-generation Virginia farmer, founded the National Black Farmers Association in 1995 after being discriminated against by the USDA. Boyd led a group of 60 farmers to demonstrate in Washington, DC, and filed a lawsuit that inspired further political advocacy.
